Hof Hasenheide 92
Berlin Kreuzberg

In commission of the owner community of the dwelling house Hasenheide 92, Berlin Kreuzberg represented by Hintze, Anhaltinerstr. 2 A, 14163 Berlin Berlin, July 1998.

As a conclusion of reconstruction works on the dwelling houses "Hasenheide 92, Berlin ", the renovation of the yard had been proposed since years. The existing elements of the yard (carpet bar, bicycle stand, cellar light pits) and the yards concrete lining could not stay any longer. They did not partially fulfil the terms of a friendly residential environment. Several schemes of resident architects working in the house, and/or inquired landscape gardening companies and the owner community could not convince however. It led to the fact that the new organisation again and again postponed the renovation. In summer 1997 the Bureau Zimmermann was assigned to submit a draft that should consider the different requirements of the inhabitants and visitors to proceed a realizable framework in the laid down costs. Intensive discussions of several scheme variants let to this documented solution. The draft reaches into the early ornaments found in the hall and transported them into a new stylistic idiom. Small walls to sit on arrange the yard into moveable and resting surfaces. The color choise for the pavement and the walls adapts to the cream-yellow fronts of the facades. The planting concept considers the alternating changes by flowering bushes and shrubs in this basic colour. A precious focus in the middle of the yard forms a small tree growing up: a cornus florida.
